Who was Barompa? Barompa Darma Wangchuk (1127 – 1199) was one of Gampopa’s main disciples. He was the founder of the Barom Kagyu lineage. Barompa was a previous incarnation of Terchen Barway Dorje, and thus Bardor Tulku Rinpoche. To read more about the connection between the Barway Dorje lineage and the Barom Kagyu, click here

What are the Songs of Barompa Darma Wangchuk? Songs (Dohas in Sanskrit) are verses of instruction in the gradual steps of the Buddhist path along with key meditation instruction. They are appropriate for all levels – from beginners who are just starting to learn about Buddhism, to long-time meditators who are looking for profound advice. Hearing these Songs give blessings and inspiration to those who are open to them. Lama Tashi Topgyal will teach at all levels and provide context for the Songs, giving clear explanations as to what each verse means.
