Thank you all our goal was reached

Dear Dharma Friends,

As we approach the Tibetan New Year, we come to you with a fundraiser for a cause that was very personally significant to our late guru, Venerable Bardor Tulku Rinpoche.

As most of you know, Raktrul Monastery in eastern Tibet is the root monastery of the Terchen Barway Dorje lineage. Though Rinpoche lived many thousands of miles away in the US, he continuously offered his support to the monastery to ensure its health and smooth running.

There are three main drupchens (long group retreats) that occur annually at Raktrul Monastery; these three are the Yamantaka, Vajrakilaya, and White Kechari. Bardor Rinpoche personally sponsored the Yamantaka drupchen at Raktrul Monastery for over 20 years. The monastery was able to support the 2022 drupchen from extra funds from Rinpoche’s previous contributions, however those have now exhausted. It is our hope that together Kunzang Palchen Ling and our Sangha can help support the Yamantaka drupchen for this year, 2023.

For the drupchen this year, there will be 135 monks and nuns convening together for seven days of practice and three days of torma making during February 13-19. The estimated funds necessary to support the retreat is $5,500.

We would like to continue Rinpoche’s noble activity, even if just for one year, which he carried out privately for many years. Therefore, we welcome you to take part in this meritorious sponsorship of Raktrul Monastery’s Yamataka drupchen, and thank you sincerely for any contribution.

With prayers for the Dharma to flourish,

Kunzang Palchen Ling Board of Trustees
