Mandala of Merit • Guru Rinpoche Shrine Project

We would like to introduce to you the Guru Rinpoche Shrine Project that will reside on the upper level of the second floor and will be the focus of this campaign. The project involves building a custom-designed shrine, which will house 50 consecrated statues, including Guru Rinpoche and his consorts, the 25 disciples, eight emanations of Guru Rinpoche, various Dharmapalas and more. Mandala of Merit is a two-prong effort to raise funds for the Guru Rinpoche shrine and landscaping. Since launching in December, we’ve raised $27,000 toward both projects.

KPL’s upcoming anniversary celebration on April 27, 2019, will also include celebrating Bardor Tulku Rinpoche’s 70th birthday. On that occasion, we would like to offer Rinpoche the funds to finish the Guru Rinpoche shrine construction as a gift from the sangha. Recent estimates indicate that we’ll need $35,000 to finish the shrine construction.

Here is a rendition of the Guru Rinpoche Shrine design.

Work has already begun on the project with Rinpoche closely overseeing the details of the design. The Guru Rinpoche shrine holds special significance to the Barway Dorje lineage and Rinpoche’s activities. Rinpoche also expressed the importance of finishing this shrine.

Guru Rinpoche – $10,000

Eight Manifestations of Guru Rinpoche – $5,000

25 Disciplines – $1,000

Dharmapalas – $500

Dakas & Dakinis – $100

Mandala of Merit – Any Amount

“Given that Kunzang Palchen Ling is not only a repository for the Buddha’s teachings, but also a venue for the visits and teachings of holy beings of many traditions, I ask that you continue to help as you have. Although the building itself is finished, the work of making this a place of practice and a place of intense study is just beginning and as I often remind you in this context, as we set about this work, the most important thing is our intention.” — Bardor Tulku Rinpoche

Let’s make Rinpoche’s birthday a special one! You may give on many levels. Or ask your study group or center about pooling together your funds. No fund is too small in your generosity. We will keep you updated on our progress.
