Dear Friends,
It feels like 2023 is rushing to a close. We hope this past year has been one of revival and growth for everyone. Through the support and dedication of our sangha members, Kunzang Palchen Ling continues to be a space for Dharma practice and study of the teachings of Terchen Barway Dorje. For that, we may all rejoice.
This year saw many momentous events take place at our center. For the first time in history the complete White Khechari empowerment, consisting of the vase, secret, knowledge, and precious word empowerments were conferred in the U.S. The Dzogchen Retreat reconvened at long last after its 2019 hiatus, and served as a warm reunion for all the sangha members who traveled from near and far to take part. Both these intensive events were led by the tireless and skillful guidance of our Vajracharya Lama Tashi Topgyal.
The Subtle Essence Vajrasattva Retreat of 2023 commemorated the second year since our precious guru, Venerable Bardor Rinpoche’s Parinirvana. Nevertheless, teachings on the Songs of Barway Dorje have carried on continuously. In addition, teachings on the precious human life were given by Chime Lama, an introductory Dharma talk was led by Michael Harris, a one-day meditation retreat entitled The Ceiling of Space was led by Naomi Schmidt, and an Abiding in Peace Meditation was led by Davis Trachte. Lama Tashi Topgyal oversaw a Green Tara Weekend Retreat and resumed teachings on Guru Rinpoche’s Essence of Wisdom. Regular weekly and bi-weekly practices and study groups were also steadfastly led by Davis Trachte, Naomi Schmidt and Michael Harris.
As we look to this coming year of the Dragon, we want to sincerely thank each and everyone who has supported our center, our teachers and staff. Thank you for joining us on this spiritual path and for deepening our connection and community. We pray for many more years of learning and practicing the Dharma together.
