Letter to Jigme Tulku Rinpoche
E MA HO! Brilliant dharmakaya of the three times’ victors,
The array of the samboghakayas of the three times’ victors is complete in you.
You perform the benefit of being of the three times’ victors’ nirmanakayas.
Lord of hundred bodies, essence of hundredfold speech,
Revealer of a hundred minds, perfect activity of benefiting beings:
I bow to the perfect embodiment of them all.
Karmapa, embodiment of all the three times’ victors,
Compassionate one who averts premature death:
Always remain on a lotus and moon atop my head.
Enable me to see the wisdom that is the five poisons’ nature.
Listen, Tulku Jigme!
Listen, man of Tromge family!
The bloodline of heroic vidyadharas is the best heritage.
May you attain the level of a vajra holder, the best level.
The twelve-finger length iron kila you gave me
Contains the aspiration that I perfect twelvefold interdependence.
Immortal Padmakara, the vidyadhara with mastery of vitality, hear me!
I make the aspiration that your vitality is harder than rock.
The twelve-finger length iron kila you gave me
Has a sharp, radiant, triangular blade.
Like Garab Dorje, the vidyadhara of spontaneous presence,
May you traverse the supreme vidyadhara’s path of union and liberation.
The twelve-finger length iron kila you gave me
Blazes with majesty; it is hard and seductive.
Like Manjushrimitra, the vidyadhara of mahamudra,
May you accomplish the four actions killing, averting, burning, and pinning.
The twelve-finger length iron kila you gave me
Came to this warriors’ hands just when I needed it.
Like Shri Singha, the vidyadhara of full maturation,
May you purify all karmic maturation affecting vitality.
May you perfect the four appearances and your skill in the four empowerments.
May you attain the result, the four vidyadhara levels.
May Jikme Tromge’s wishes be fulfilled.
May you hold your lord father’s seat.
May you be victorious over all maras with perverted aspirations.
May you grasp the seedling of diverse knowledge.
In sum, may all your wishes be fulfilled according to dharma.
Among the treasures revealed by my predecessor
Is this offering to the great mother white Samantabhadri,
Taught for the twenty-fifth day when prajna swells.
May she grant you blessing so that you free yourself through realization.
Among the treasures revealed by my predecessor
Is this combined sadhana of the Guru, The Essence of Vitality.
I offer it as support for expansion of your activity benefiting beings.
May he grant his blessing so that you free others through compassion.
Among the treasures revealed by my predecessor
Is this liturgy for the preliminaries, The Great Gate to the Path of Freedom.
May you place all beings of the six states on the path to freedom.
May you reach the level of one time and no time.
I am the king of awareness, a descendant of Nup.
May there be auspicious victory over adversity and maras.
May there be the auspiciousness of awareness as straight as an arrow.
May there be the auspicious continuation of your father’s benefit of beings.
I thank you for your very kind gift of an activity kila accompanied by fine aspirations for me. It brought me great joy, both because it reached me on a Thursday, my spirit day, and because both your parents have preserved pure samaya with me. In every way, your gift has proven most auspicious. I therefore thank you a hundred times.
