Guru Rinpoche Day

This practice is held on the 10th lunar day.

At Kunzang Palchen Ling, on the 10th day of each lunar month, we perform an extended version of the feast (tsok) sadhana of Guru Rinpoche from the term of Terchen Barway Dorje.

Pre-Losar Yamantaka Puja

All are welcome to attend. The time the puja ends may vary from day to day.

It is customary in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition to perform a wrathful deity intensive practice before the approach a new year. At Kunzang Palchen Ling, we do a week-long puja of Yamantaka from the terma of Terchen Barway Dorje.

Fire Puja

A fire puja is traditionally performed to pacify obstacles before the beginning of the New Year. Through the smoke offering made during the puja, the local and universal forces are appeased so that they do not cause any disturbances in the upcoming year.

The liturgy of the pre-Losar fire puja done at Kunzang Palchen Ling is combined with sections of the liturgy of Vajrakilaya sadhana from the terma of Terchen Barway Dorje.

Losar (Tibetan New Year), Year of the Water Dragon

We will celebrate the beginning of the Water Dragon Year with the following program:
8am - Green Tara puja followed by tea and rice ceremony and kata offering
Noon - Potluck lunch: Bring a dish of your choice and join us for some relaxed time in good company to celebrate the New Year!
